Narrative Description of the Project:

The project comprises of two components: Detailed Engineering Design & Construction Supervision of Network Preservation & Engineering Design of Network Improvement of the Road Sector Reform Project. The Network Preservation will cover the rehabilitation and resurfacing of about 1200 km of roads and 12000 meters of bridges. This work involves rehabilitation and strengthening of existing carriageways and road safety improvements identified through a corridor safety audit.

The Network Improvement will cover road upgrading of about 300 km of existing road links. The specific links and bridges will be identified thorough a separate feasibility study covering a long list of (about 1000 km) of corridor sections requiring capacity/safety improvement.   

 

Description of Actual Services Provided by our Staff:

Data collection, surveys and investigation of road safety and social & resettlement aspects of the projects. To ensure the necessary road safety improvement including traffic engineering and management solutions the consultant prepares manual of standard specification for traffic sign, road marking, traffic signal and other traffic control measures, plan, design and prepare bid documents. Carry out social assessment, prepare/update the resettlement action plan, indigenous people’s development plan for the preservation and improvement of network. Supervision and quality control of construction works of network preservation.
