Narrative Description of the Project:

This project intends to conduct Feasibility Studies and Detailed Design of small scale water resources projects in greater Mymensingh, Sylhet and Faridpur Areas and implement about 220 Sub-projects in all the Upazilas of 15 districts of the project areas. The overall objective of the project is to reduce poverty  through the increase of sustainable agricultural and fishery production. The specific objectives of  the Project is to develop sustainable stakeholder-driven small-scale water resources management systems with special attention to the poorer section of the population. The main project components are: rehabilitation and construction of embankments, upgrading of existing road embankments to flood management standard, re-excavation of drainage khals, small rivers, bed of water bodies, beels, baors etc. to increase conservation capacities, rehabilitation/construction of hydraulic structures such as sluices,  regulators, water retention structures, upgrading of existing irrigation systems, tree plantation etc.

(i)Data Collection and Engineering Survey for subproject appraisal, (ii) Preparation of Feasibility Studies supported by appropriate analysis, (iii) Preparation of Detailed Engineering Design including Geo-Technical Investigation, where needed, for hydraulic structure sites and (iv) Preparation of Land Acquisition and Mitigation Plans
