Narrative Description of the Project: The objective of the project is to find out an alternative location on the upper stream of Sitalakhya for the intake of Saidabad Water Treatment plant. The feasibility study team including IWM studied options through Mathematical Model for various options for optimising the cost and mitigation of the adverse environmental impacts at intake & selected best possible site for alternative intake.
Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff: The services of the consultant included planning, study existing situation, data collection, detailed design of various project infrastructure, DND raw water protection, Economical & Environmental Impact studies of the study area & Saidabad WTP and developing a re-settlement plan for the project affected people. Developed a plan to establish and monitor a Core-protection Zone, Impact Zone of the proposed intake. (a) The study also included Detailed field survey investigation and Study of Hydrological phenomena for water source selection at the proposed intake (b) Detailed field investigation and study of Hydro-geological phenomena for water source selection at the proposed intake including water & waste water sampling & testing. (c) Checking the process design of surface water treatment plant of saidabad Phase-I (225mld) & preparing recommending process design for Saidabad WTP Phase-II (225mld). (d) Pump & Substation selection for proposed intake. Feasibility level design of intake, intake structure, pump House, Raw Water transmission main (Box culvert) & Syphons etc.
