Narrative
Description of the Project: Presently
Bangladesh Railway owns about 62,000 acres of land. No systematic and up to-date
record of rights of land, acquired in different areas from time to time, are
currently available with Railway Administration. A huge quantity of Railway
land is under unauthorized occupations. Some unauthorized occupants have
prepared false papers regarding land ownership. It is urgently necessary to
do a complete survey of the Railway land and bring all land under
administrative control of the Railway Authority. Railway now is a loosing
concern. It is nearly impossible to make it a profitable organization merely
from its passenger carrying & goods carrying revenue. If Railway can earn
something by using its huge land profitably through entrepreneurs or joint
venture, Railway can become a profitable organization. With that end in view,
Bangladesh Railway has decided to make a survey of Railway land and prepare a
land use plan by engaging a Consulting Firm to find out if these land can be
utilized profitably. |

Description
of Actual Services Provided by our Staff: (a) Collection of documents such as mouza map,
khatian, land acquisition plan, gazette notification etc. regarding title of
land (b) Compilation and study of documents so as to prepare a complete set
of documents regarding title of land. (c) Reconnaissance Survey: The
consultant has to prepare a preliminary survey map showing zones of different
types of land use within Railway land (d) Detailed survey of the Railway land
using GIS & LIS system (e) Ascertain quantum of land acquired/purchased
by Bangladesh Railway (f) Ascertain quantum of land to be kept under Railway
possession and that be leased out for commercial purpose and that to be
developed under entrepreneurs or to be disposed off (g) Definition and
identification of zones and sites for different types of land use (h)
Preparation of land use plan (i) Review and updating of land use plan of
Khulna, Dhaka and Chittagong area which were prepared in the year 1998, 1999
& 2000. |
